It is not hard to find this local colorful dessert. From street vendors to restaurants, it is everywhere! This fresh treat is also known as iced beans or shaved ice. The original ais kacang was made of shaved ice and red beans but now in addition to red beans, the main ingredients for the most variants are palm seed, sweet corn, grass jelly, and peanuts. Furthermore, uncommon ingredients are aloe vera and ice cream. Condensed or coconut milk is poured on top of this small-mountain-shape dessert along with different kinds of syrups.

The colorful bubur cha cha is a dessert made with coconut milk, sago, yams, sweet potatoes, pandan leaves, bananas, and black-eyed peas. Pandan leaves provide it with a sweet and light aroma, tubers give the dessert its typical color and texture, sago thickens it, while coconut milk gives it creaminess.

Bubur cha cha can be served warm or cold, and it is especially popular on hot summer days. This dessert is sometimes served for breakfast, while in the state of Penang, it is often sold as street food. Apart from Malaysia, bubur cha cha is also popular in Singapore.

Kuih akok (or just akok) is a traditional sweet Malaysian snack originating from Kelantan and Terengganu. It's usually made with a combination of eggs, coconut milk, water, sugar, flour, and salt. A batter consisting of eggs, coconut milk, flour, sugar, and salt is poured into a muffin pan or similar rounded molds, and it's then baked in the oven until the top becomes golden brown.

Malaysian deep-fried doughnuts that are made from sweet potatoes. After they are steamed and mashed, the potatoes are combined with flour to form a pliable dough that is then shaped into doughnut rings. Unlike other types of doughnuts, this version is not leavened, resulting in somewhat denser texture.

Just as its name would imply, sago gula melaka is a pudding dessert made from sago (the starch extracted from the pith of various palm stems) and gula melaka (palm sugar syrup). This pudding is a favorite among Malaysian desserts, although it is not universally found in eateries around the country, even though the recipe is straightforward.

Classic sago gula melaka only has four ingredients: sago, palm sugar, coconut milk, and pandan leaves. The sago is boiled until the pearls become translucent, while the palm sugar is melted separately. A pinch of salt is used to enhance the fragrance and flavor of coconut milk, along with the pandan leaves.
